Janet was scheduled to play five shows in Japan between the dates of February 14th and 22nd, but have since been put on hold due to the “impact of economic crisis”, according to Japanese promoter Kyodo Yokohama. She had planned to perform in Saitama, near Tokyo, as well as in other major cities, including Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. The events are part of the world tour which is her first in nearly seven years.
The cancellations are the latest live dates Jackson has pulled out of. Janet had to cancel several shows on her North American tour due to her bout with vertigo. Further dates were also canceled reportedly as a result of low ticket sales.
New Japan dates are expected to be announced in March.
