Janet Jackson has just signed a deal with Live Nation! She parted ways with Island Records in September after the low sales of her last album, Discipline.
But now she’s followed in the footsteps of Jay-Z, Shakira, and U2 with her new contract with promoters Live Nation. Who needs a label when you have those guys? Under this new contract, Live Nation will be able to have a say over her next album and concert plans.
And speaking of albums, Janet is already working on her follow-up to Discipline. She’s hired Jimmy Jam to be her mentor and help her create a blowout album. In a video message posted on YouTube, Jimmy Jam said, "We're also working with Janet Jackson. We're not working on her last effort at all. And, ... there is no beef between us."
According to reports, the new album could come out as early as this Spring! Janet’s will also be continuing her tour "Rock Witchu" this year. But it might be renamed to whatever her next project is called. Amsterdam will be the first stop on the tour.
