You know you've made it when Jay Z is writing music for you. Back in 1998 Jay-Z sampled a snippet of "It's A Hard Knock Life" from the classic musical 'Annie'. Flash forward to 14 years later now Hova is the musical director for the upcoming remake on 'Annie'.
Jay-Z will write all of the songs for the remake of the 1982 Broadway musical turned movie and the lead actress is 11-year-old Willow Smith. And wherever Willow is, her dad is close by. Will Smith is co-producing 'Annie' with Jigga Man.
This isn't the first time Jay has worked with Willow either--he signed her on to Roc Nation after her song "Whip My Hair" became a hit.
Film production starts in Spring 2013 and will take place in New York. It will include some classical songs from the original musical, in addition to Jay-Z's new sounds.
