Michelle Obama Wants Jessica Simpson to Sing For Military Families

Because apparently our military hasn’t been through enough, Michelle Obama has chosen Jessica Simpson to entertain them.

"[The First Lady] asked me to sing for the troops. That's a huge honor for me," Simpson told US Magazine. "Just to be there and show my support and say thank you."

I wish they would actually interview military personnel and ask them who their favorite singers are. Because I doubt more than 2% of them would list Jessica Simpson.

Simpson’s performance will take place during the Rockies vs. Mets game in Denver on April 13th.

That’s less of an informative sentence and more of a warning for military families. Kind of like those road signs that tell you when there’s going to be construction so you don’t make the mistake of taking that route.

I’m not saying she’s a bad singer; I’m just saying our troops deserve better. There’s no making up for the sacrifices they’ve made for our country, but I think a pool party and a kegger would be a little better than a performance by a shoe designer.
