John Legend lent Kelly Clarkson a friendly stage bomb last night at her Hollywood Bowl show—they performed a country song she’d recorded with Jason Aldean called “Don’t You Wanna Stay” in the middle of her set, to the joy and flailing of her fans.
Kelly and John have performed together before—they sang Ray Charles’ “You Don’t Know Me” on ABC’s Duets earlier this month, and John and Meleana Brown sang “Since You Been Gone” to a clapping and giggly Kelly on the show, too.
The two definitely have some on-stage chemistry, and a Clarkson-Legend collabo would almost certainly turn out to be anthemically fantastic. As would a Clarkson-Legend marriage and Clarkson-Legend children. But as Legend’s engaged to Chrissy Teigen and Clarkson is dating Reba McEntire’s stepson, we will all have to settle with them being performance buddies for now.
Kathy Griffin was also at the Hollywood Bowl show, Instagramming a pic of her and Kelly and plugging her show. But of course.
