John Legend is a boss. There’s no need to even try to deny it, even if you’re John Legend.
The artist is nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards in the category of Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
When it comes to awards night, not only is Legend a veteran, he also enjoys the experience.
“It’s awesome, all of it,” he tells Stereotude. "I love being nominated I love winning.”
Legend’s debut studio release, Gift Lifted, scored an impressive three Grammys for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, Best New Artist, and Best R&B Album.
“Every time you even get a nomination its really nice and of course winning is great,” he says.
This year, he’s nominated for his song “Tonight (Best You Ever Had),” a track off the Think Like a Man soundtrack. The track features lyrics by Ludacris.
With a title “Best You Ever Had,” it was bound to woo critics, but to the singer, it’s more about doing what he was meant to do.
“I just love that I get to do what I love to do every single day,” he says. “[I] love that I get to use my position to help other people and try to put some light out into the world."
The 2013 Grammys air Sunday Feb. 10 at 8/7c on CBS.
