John Mayer Cancels Tour and Takes Indefinite Break from Live Music

Sad news for John Mayer fans, our favorite soulful sexy crooner has announced that a granuloma on his vocal chords has grown back after he thought it was healed.

He said that during a rehearsal on Tuesday he new something wasn’t quite right about his voice

“This is bad news,” Mayer wrote on his Tumblr, “Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down.”

Mayer has had to cancel his upcoming tour for an indefinite period of time. His album, “Born and Raised,” was delayed because of throat surgery but now he’s going ahead with the release date of May 22nd, he just won’t do a tour along with it.

“Somewhere in all of this is another surgery and a very long chemically-imposed period of silence, so I hope you’ll understand that I have to really pick that date carefully,” says Mayer.

Just another excuse for John Mayer to smoke even more weed. Yeesh.

“I’m pretty emotionally burnt out at the moment, but please know how hard I tried to resolve and how disappointed I am that I can’t perform this record yet,” Mayer adds.

This is sad news, but thankfully for Mayer that gives him a TON of time to write new music.

“I feel really vibrant as a writer at the moment and there’s no reason not to begin the next album project in the time I would have been touring,” he says.
