Yesterday, the unthinkable happened. Everyone's calling it the "Great Instagram Purge."
The popular photo sharing app deleted the thousands of inactive and fake accounts filling space in people's "follower" lists. This meant celebrities losing thousands, and sometimes millions of Instagram followers.
Before the "Great Purge" yesterday, Justin Bieber was the "King of Instagram" with 23 million Instagram followers. He lost more than 3.5 million followers, and has now been dethroned as the most followed person on Instagram.
The new "King of Instagram", or well "Queen" is Kim Kardashian West. Kim lost 1.3 million of her 23 million followers (compare that to Justin losing 3.5 of his 23 mil). She now sits on the throne with 22.2 million real followers.
We're not sure how Justin's taking the blow, but he's trying out a new photo-sharing app called Shots.
