While you were out twerking away your dignity over the weekend, the newshounds at Stereotude were glued to the wires, hunting down the weirdest and most wonderful music news around the net. This is FYI:

Russia Loves Elton: Russian President and well-known shirtless bear wrangler Vladimir Putin has stated that gay attendees will be safe at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi, despite Russia's current laws banning "homosexual propaganda" to minors. He cited Russia's love for Elton John "despite his orientation" as proof that our post-Soviet comrades can get down with gays. (Via Yahoo

The Bieb Loves Sizzurp: Bieber has been "urged" to seek help regarding an apparent addiction to codeine syrup after his never-ending parade of antics got his buddy Lil Za (what, the name Calzone was already taken?) arrested. Apparently Biebs is getting the real good good purple drank imported at prices quoted as high as $800 a litre. Stereotude encourages Biebs to do whatever he wants, because this shit is funny. EDM. J. Blige: Last night in New York, Mary J. Blige joined British garage duo Disclosure on stage for a performance of their track "F For You." Watching the video, it seems like the US has reverted to an identical musical climate to that of the UK in 1994. In fitting with this, Sting was in the crowd. Culture is so weird sometimes. Liam Don't Give a Duck: One Direction's Liam Payne has come under fire after tweeting the following to the openly and proudly homophobic star of Duck Dynasty, Willie Robertson: "huge love to you/your family…and the family values you still all behold.” After the media maelstrom that followed, Payne followed up with "Oh my god can someone literally not be a fan [of] a show without being labelled," before kindly offering the following suggestion to journalists: "Pick ur balls up off the floor." Drake Didn't Suck: We at Stereotude love to hate on Drake. It's just the right thing to do sometimes. But his performance on "SNL" over the weekend was full of gems. We were actually laughing WITH him for once. Check out one of the funniest sketches:
