Since the release of his music video “Boyfriend” last week, Justin Bieber has already got nearly 30 million hits on Youtube. That’s the population of a small country.
Among the many people the video caught the attention of were the Ying Yang Twins. You may recall a certain hit “The Whisper Song” – aka “Wait” – by the duo.
Well, the Twins could not help but see the similarities in their whispering and in Justin’s, and have already parodied “Boyfriend” with their our comedic remix.
“I don't wanna be your boyfriend, I wanna be your man/ He a little-bitty boy, I'm a grown man,”sing whisper the lyrics.
The song seems to poke fun of the 18-year old, playing on the Canadian singer’s youth and potential inability to perform like a real man. Still, the remix seems well intentioned enough for both Bieber lovers and haters alike to enjoy.
“If you got a little sister, Justin Bieber wants to be her boyfriend.” (I doubt any little sister would object.)
The inspiration is easy to assess. There’s no denying the resemblance of the original songs. Even the original videos have similarities. In both, there is sensual, close up whispering in attractive women’s ears, either by De-Roc or Biebs, himself.
Bieber’s “Boyfriend” was produced by Mike Posner and Mason Levy. You can buy it on June 19 on the album Believe. If you can’t wait until then, you can buy the single track on iTunes (if you haven’t already).
