Justin Bieber Has Never Had a No. 1 Single - Will 'Boyfriend' Be It?

Justin Bieber is a lot of things, one-time youtube sensation, teen idol, Usher's adopted son, but one thing he's not? He's not a No. 1 artist on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Surprisingly none of Bieber's past singles like “One Time,” “Baby” and “Somebody to Love” barely even made it to the Top 10 of the Hot 100.

His best effort was with his new single “Boyfriend”, which peaked at No.2 and has since dropped down to the No. 5 spot.

Even though Bieber is a cultural phenomenon, he can't shake that he was a tween sensation, and even though “Bieber”-type performers have hordes of rabid fans, they just don't get the radio play and chart numbers like older more widely respected artists.

But can “Boyfriend” finally be the song that gives Bieber that number 1 slot? He's got a more mature sound, everyone is comparing him to Justin Timberlake now, and the world is waiting on pins and needles for him to release his sexy new video for “Boyfriend.”

Bieber debuted about 45 seconds of his new music video on The Voice last night and proved that The Biebs is all grow'd up. He's whispering in ears, getting groped by a variety of women, and playing the guitar while rocking a fedora. It's all kinds of fine. Also, now that he's 18, it's okay for all of us to say that!
