Remember back in 2006 when Justin Timberlake debuted "FutureSex/LoveSounds" and everyone was stressing out because his new music was so different than his 2002's Justified which was totally unsexy and unfuture-y. Basically Bieber wants to have a Justin Timberlake moment. He wants everyone to hear his music and be like, "Omigod this is not like anything I've ever heard. Good job Justin Bieber."
Bieber wants to have Justin Timberlake levels of success with his follow up to his "My World 2.0" album, "I'm trying to create a new sound that people aren't really used to hearing, so it might sound weird at first, but it's going to be like when Justin Timberlake did," Bieber tells MTV.
He said Timberlake had success with his sophomore album because he created something new, "It was a new sound - acoustic guitar over hard drums."
"I want to find something that's going to suit me and my fans are going to love and older people will like and younger people will like," says Bieber. Older people and younger people will like? Wow, that's the same thing as saying "everyone."
"But I'm always trying to keep my core fanbase, because the young people are what make everything cool. Old people look to young people, so trying to keep everyone happy."
While he's busy trying to keep everyone happy he's just going to churn out song after song until he finds out what his "new sound" is.
"It's almost time for my next album, so then everything starts over again. We've already started working on it, but we're going to be going in every day and working with new people and trying to find the best sound, because I'm going to be recording different styles, different things until I find a solid 15 songs that I love. I'm going to be recording as many songs as I possibly can."
Awww I love that Justin Bieber think his music actually matters. All he does is have to put on a gold chain, throw out some winks and hug a couple fans and he'll go quadruple platinum. It doesn't even matter if the album is 45 minutes of ocean sounds.
However, while his new album promises some ground breaking stuff, he's busy focusing on his OTHER album, aka his Holiday Album which is out on November 1st.
"We're trying to focus on the Christmas album and get people in the holiday spirit. All the songs have something to do with a little bit of mistletoe and having a special person in your life on Christmas," says the Biebs.
