Even if you’re not a Justin Bieber fan, you have to admit the kid is pretty powerful. Not only is he the most popular tween sensation out there right now, but he’s affecting social networking—big time.
According to reports, Bieber, who has over five million followers, takes up 3% of Twitter traffic at any given time. Dustin Curtis, a designer who works at the micro-blogging service, confirmed the news during an interview, and techie blog Gizmodo.com confirmed it was true.
The Twitter employee said in the interview, “At any moment, Justin Bieber uses 3% of our infrastructure. Racks of servers are dedicated to him.”
But Justin isn’t the only one. According to the Twitter employee, most popular users (mainly celebs) on the site have dedicated servers for their accounts.
So that means stars like Ashton Kutcher, Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian, each with more than 4 million followers, likely have their own racks as well.
Every kid’s dream…to grow up and have dedicated servers on Twitter…
