Justin Bieber's 'Believe' Becomes Number One and Breaks Records

The boy wonder is at it again. Justin Bieber’s new album Believe was released last week and it is already breaking records.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, the album sold 374,000 copies in its first week. That’s more than the population of New Orleans!

Justin’s had four number one albums starting with his first LP My World 2.0. In a two-and-a-half year span, that’s more than any previous single act has ever accomplished.

With the record-setting spree, you can imagine that the Twitterverse in abuzz this morning with love for the 18-year-old star.

“Congrats to @justinbieber on a great album and for allowing me to be a part of it,” Drake tweeted.

The R&B singer collaborated with the Bieber on the song “Right Here,” the sixth track on the new album. Justin was quick to accept the congrats, but graciously modest nonetheless.

“@Drake come on man. the album wouldnt have been the same without you. thank you big bro,” he tweeted back.

Coming in behind Justin was his longtime mentor Usher with his seventh studio album Looking 4 Myself. The album sold 48,000 copies in second week, coming in at number six on the list, after debuting at the number one spot last week.

Usher previously told MTV News that the back-to-back release dates were a semi-conscious decision.

“We try to calculate that when we release so that we will support each other,” said Usher. “It’s like a seesaw … ‘You take it this week, I’ll take it next week.’”

Bieber certainly took the reins this week. Now if he could only get that first number one hit single….
