Ah, the language of love…some think it’s French, others Italian. But for the 2000s, which have already given the world treasures of culture like Fifty Shades of Grey and Big Brother, we have Kanye West.
At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, our own Bard and friend Leonardo DiCaprio showed up at New York’s PH-D Rooftop Lounge in Chelsea to preview 45 minutes of new material from his upcoming compilation album Cruel Summer during DJ Reach’s birthday party.
He played a lot of music with recognizably sampled clips (what else), and a source said that the production style was similar to Watch The Throne’s. The track in question, where he declares his unending love to Kim, sampled “Carmina Burana” heavily and is punctuated by a chorus claiming that Kanye has found his “perfect bitch”.
If that's not a heartfelt proclamation of eternal ardour, I don't know what is. By all accounts Kim wasn't at the event yesterday, but I'm sure she felt some warmth in the cockles of her heart when the words played, no matter where she was.
Cruel Summer, an album featuring most of the artists in Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music collective—such as John Legend, Common, Kid Cudi, Mos Def and Big Sean—was supposed to be released today, but was pushed back to September 4.
