The song, “White Dress,” will appear on the soundtrack to RZA’s new kung fu fighting movie The Man With The Iron Fists starring Russell Crowe and has Yeezy spitting, “Your high heels clickin’ / Your lip gloss glistenin’ / Your hips start switchin’.” Hmm, could the 35-year-old be referring to girlfriend Kimmie’s famous hourglass curves?
From what’s available online, “White Dress” is a change from the baroque, ornate orchestration Kanye’s immersed himself in this summer with G.O.O.D. Music—the RZA-produced song is a more steady, more mellow, more soulful, more fitting for Late Registration than My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy number.
Of the beat and phrasing, RZA told MTV, “Kanye's a dope lyricist, but what he did on this particular song, it ain't 16 bars, he's going like how Ghostface goes. Like, 40 bars, just goin'. He's goin' and he's killin' it, yo!"
Lyrics have always been Kanye’s most consistent and relatable talent. Someone who can get you nodding your head, but also crack a smile out of you when he raps, “Remember I used to do things that’ll make you laugh / Like order a girl drink in a masculine glass.”
The soundtrack, and song, is available in full when it’s released on October 23.
