Kanye West allegedly got paid a mighty fee of $3 million to play at the grandson of Kazakhstan's president’s wedding. Nobody was that amused, though. (New York Times)

The Jay Z-helmed Made in America festival played out in Philadelphia this weekend, which featured an energetic performance from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and a closing set from Nine Inch Nails. (Rolling Stone)

Sleigh Bells have officially announced a new album. Bitter Rivals will arrive October 8th, and there will be a fall U.S. tour to support it. (Pitchfork)

The Labor Day weekend’s box office was dominated in part by the boys of One Direction, whose new 3D movie This Is Us came in second to Lee Daniels’ The Butler. (Entertainment Weekly)

Today, the Pixies have unveiled a new four-track EP, along with a video for “Indie Cindy.” (NME)

During the iTunes Festival, Lady Gaga debuted a series of new ARTPOP songs, including a hip-hop track called “Jewels & Drugs,” featuring Too Short, T.I. and Twista. (Rolling Stone)

Also happening this weekend was Electric Zoo, which included a headlining spot from Tiesto. But it was less than cool. A 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted, 31 people were arrested and there were two deaths from drug overdoses. Yikes. (Consequence of Sound)
