The days of selling out arenas reserved for pop music acts are over.
O.C.-based DJ Kaskade – aka Ryan Raddon - is coming to Cali in July and it turns out people are looking forward to seeing him. So much, in fact, that they bought out all the tickets for his performance at Staples Center.
“I have been working so hard on this new production and it has been so important for me to create a show that I can take to my fans in every market possible,” said Kaskade.
And all that hard work is paying off…
With previous sellouts from acts like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, Kaskade’s LA show is not only the first DJ to sell out Staples, but also the first electronic music artist ever to headline at the venue.
The Los Angeles stop is part of his 2012 summer tour Freaks of Nature. In addition, the show will be stopping in major cities like Atlanta, Philadelphia and Houston. His show at Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco following Staples sold out too.
The milestone adds to Kaskade’s already thriving career, being named as America’s Best DJ by both DJ Times and Pioneer DJ. But despite the honors on paper, there’s nothing like performing for an excited live crowd.
“The energy from my fans at these shows has been everything I could ever dream of and I am sure LA and SF are going to be particularly off the charts,” he said.
As if we needed the proof, the sell out shows confirm the popularity of the EDM movement is on the rise. Live Nation President James Barton says that shows like Staples are mere examples of “reaching fans in ways that are invigorating to the industry at large.”
Kaskade’s Staple Center sold out performance is scheduled for July 27th.
