Check out Katy Perry's Pre-Super Bowl Perormance

Before Madonna rocked the stage during her halftime performance, Katy Perry took a slightly smaller stage to give her own pop performance.

The singer performed at DirectTV’s Pre-Super Bowl party Saturday night and I don’t think that anyone can argue Katy Perry can sing. But her choreographed dancing is another story. I’m not saying Madonna’s dancing was better than Katy Perry’s, but Katy’s moves during ‘Teenage Dream’ was pretty much my junior high school audition for the cheerleading squad. And no, I did not make the cut.

Katy wore a football-themed outfit, (except that I don’t think football players wear booty shorts), and belted out a few of her hits including Teenage Dream Hot N Cold and E.T.. Before singing Peacock, the singer announced: “This one goes out to Tim Tebow,” the footballer whom Perry’s parents are reportedly urging her date. “ Hey Tim. My parents say hi,” Katy mentioned earlier in the show.

Backup dancers came out with bright blue peacock feathers, and I’m pretty sure Katy did the booty clap onstage.

Katy’s backup dancers were dressed up in football player and cheerleader uniforms, and they managed to save the show, dancing-wise, during Hot N Cold. But keep in mind, Katy was also wearing high heeled sneakers so it can’t be easy to dance in those things. Also, most of the dance moves were probably purposely high school cheerleader-esque.

Either way, the crowd went nuts for Katy’s performance.

During the actual Super Bowl, Katy couple be spotted cheering in the crowd. The singer late Tweeted: “SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE @ #thesuperbowl #neverthoughtidsaythat…Okay fine…I (heart) GIANTS!’
