Katy Perry is set to make her first acting debut on the TV sitcom, “Raising Hope” and apparently she’s gotten bit the acting bug pretty bad as she’s “in talks” to take on a dramatic role in a new biopic about the first ever “Britain’s Got Talents” winners wife.
The movie is supposedly going to a be biopic on the life of Paul Potts, the opera singer who worked as a mobile phone salesman before winning the first series of UK talent show, “Britain’s Got Talent.”
Also, producer Harvey Weinstein is set to produce the flick and if you know anything about movies, Harvey Weinstein produced all the Oscar winners like The Artist, The Iron Lady, and My Week With Marilyn.
Katy went to Weinstein’s pre-Oscars party last weekend and they chatted about her possibly joining the cast.
“I was talking to Katy about a new project, a possible dramatic role in the Paul Potts movie, which will be shooting in England soon,” Weinstein told the New York Post, “We’d really like someone like Katy or Adele to play the role of Potts wife, and Katy seemed genuinely interested.”
However, Katy would have to gain weight to play the role of Julie-Ann Cooper, but Katy reportedly said, “I love a challenge.”
The movie should be pretty compelling, Paul was awkward and down on his luck when he auditioned for “Britain’s Got Talent,” he went on to win the show and sell over two million copies of his debut album, “One Chance.”
