Uhh oh, Katy Perry has ditched the cupcake bras and rainbow wigs and is getting gritty in this new music video.
Katy just released her new music video for “Part of Me” and In the video, Katy plays a girl whose boyfriend is cheating on her, so she does what any scorned woman would do, she chops off all her hair, tapes down her boobs and joins the marines.
Katy dons some camouflage face paint and stomps around while some troops train and storm the beach.
This is one of the most aggressive videos I've ever done," Perry, 27, tells MTV, "It's an affirmation of strength, so I wanted to go the strongest route I ever could."
It’s intense. This video has got guns. Helicopters. And hand-to-hand combat. It’s basically “Saving Private Ryan.”
“For three days, I was a wannabe Marine, which was so difficult,” says Katy.
The video ends with a very stern and serious looking Katy smoldering at the camera and covered in camouflage face paint.
“Part of Me” is the song that Katy debuted on the Grammys and is also NOT about Russell Brand, we repeat, it is NOT about Russell Brand.
Katy recently said, “I wrote it two years ago, which is funny because everybody is like ‘God, it sounds so current.”
Anyways, the new song is off her upcoming album, “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection” which is a deluxe version of her Teenage Dream album.
What do you think of the video? Is Katy a believable marine or should she stick to choreographed routines and giant lollipops?
