Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini Pitch Songs for New Moon

First season Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and her runner-up Justin Guarini have jumped on the bandwagon for the Twilight obsession. They’ve each pitched new songs intended for the New Moon soundtrack.

Kelly’s new track Did You has been leaked online and rumors are swirling that it will appear on the movie’s soundtrack. The song features lyrics like, “Did you ever care for me?” and “Did you ever love me.” And to be honest, it’s a lot darker than Kelly’s usual pop music.

As for Justin, he posted his New Moon hopeful called I Can’t Live on YouTube last week to create buzz. He posted an attached note, reading, “If you like it, share it, and ask for it to be put in the new Twilight movie.

But despite Kelly and Justin’s lobbying, sources tell E! News tht director Chris Weitz hasn’t made any musical choices as of yet. The first movie’s tracklisting included angst-ridden songs from Paramore, and a couple tracks from Rob Pattinson himself. But will New Moon lighten up to include the likes of two past Idols? Time will tell. For now, the focus is on shooting in Vancouver. Summitt has a movie to finish by November!
