She’s just announced that she will embark on her "Stronger Tour" 2012 in support of her newest album, Stronger, that released last month.
The 40 plus city tour will begin in Mashantucket, CT on January 13th. She will be joined at most tour stops by folksy rock singer/songwriting Matt Nathanson.
For those of you who haven’t heard the album yet, it’s getting great reviews. Entertainment Weekly calls it “a breakup album for the ages.” Well, I could have told you that, the albums lead single is “Mr. Know It All” – sarcasm intended. Billboard says “she’s in her strongest form yet on fifth album Stronger” while The NY Times says, “Ms. Clarkson is turning into the Mary J. Blige of pop,” which is a strange yet still complimentary comparison.
Aside from the album critical acclaim, it’s doing well on the music charts too. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard top 200 and #2 on the Digital Albums chart.
In other Kelly-Clarkson-is-still-popular news, she just won a CMA award for Musical Event of the Year with Jason Aldean on their hit single “Don’t You Wanna Stay.”
Tickets go on sale this Friday November 18th and if you are a true Kelly Clarkson fan, you can sign up to become a Kellebrity. If you sign up for this super fanclub of Kellebrities by tomorrow Tuesday 11/15, you’ll be invited to buy tickets during the presale on Wednesday 11/16.
While Clarkson is one of those celebs who is “famously single” and I feel like an idiot even using that phrase, Kelly says she’s single for a reason.
“I think God won’t let me meet the right guy because if I find a man I’m gonna lock myself in a house and have babies and not go anywhere,” reveals Kelly. Yah, that US tour isn’t going to tour itself.
She adds, “I don’t want to be famous for ever like Madonna. I constantly think to myself, do I really want this? There is a reason why celebs go nutty.”
Kelly also taped a five-song acoustic set for an episode of VH1’s Unplugged including a cover of a song by other American Idol alumni Carrie Underwood. With an upcoming tour and an Unplugged special, I think for now that Kelly Clarkson is enjoying being famous.
