Kelly Clarkson kind of disappeared from the music scene for a while but the original American Idol winner is one of the only Idol winners who actually reappears from time to time to put out good music. Whatever happened to Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino or that guy who won last year? What’s his name? Oh well.
Clarkson will release her fifth studio album this fall (her last album was released over two years ago) and one of the singles has already leaked online.
The leaked song “Let Me Down,” is Clarkson doing what she does best: belting out pop rock anthems about being scorned, disappointed or angered by former lovers.
It’s good to see Clarkson staying true to her sound and not trying to fit in with the leotard baring, tranny impersonating, glitter snorting, wig toting artists like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha. I think a lot of Midwestern American Idol fans would be very upset if Clarkson tried to fit into a unitard and died her hair blue in an attempt to stay relevant.
Clarkson says fans can expect the album to have a variety of musical influences, “This album was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there’s a little bit of a country vibe/influence on a couple of songs,” Clarkson stated earlier this year about the upcoming comeback.
Clarkson told audiences at a recent Houston concert that her first single would officially drop in August and it could be this new leaked song.
