Kelly Clarkson will sing the National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner" at this year’s Super Bowl.
After last years fiasco, A.K.A Christina Aguilera flubbing the lyrics to what is easily the shortest and least difficult song ever, let's see if Kelly Clarkson can improve upon the awful track record set by the Super Bowl last year.
It's quite an honor to be asked to perform the National Anthem, you have to have a "big" voice, meaning Demi Lovato will never get asked to do it.
Previous singers of the Anthem at the Super Bowl include Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Harry Connick Jr, Beyonce, Whitney Houston and Billy Joel. So Kelly Clarkson has just joined an elite group of performers.
Other acts to perform at the Super Bowl include Blake Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert, who have become the new "it" country couple, Sorry Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
Shelton and Lambert will perform "America the Beautiful" during the pre-game festivities. Also, "pre-game festivities" is usually a phrase I reserve to playing beer pong and shot-gunning a Natural Light, let's call what Shelton and Lambert are doing as the "opening act."
As for the official half-time entertainment, Madonna will be performing her new song, "Gimme All Your Luvin" along with MIA and Nicki Minaj. She's also supposedly going to perform her old hits, "Ray Of Light," "Vogue," "Music" and "Holiday."
