When singers that can actually sing (Kelly Clarkson) cover the songs by singers who don’t sing well but release popular singles (Britney Spears) a great thing is born and it’s called Kelly-Clarkson-covers-a-Britney-Spears-song-and-it-is-awesome!

During Kelly’s concert in LA last night she covered the Britney single, “Till the World Ends!”

Kelly sang the pop track more stripped down like a bluesy diva in a dark nightclub rather than with pyro and 10 half naked back-up dancers as Britney usually performs the song. Kelly sat on a stool the whole performance, but soared over the song like it was nothing.

“I thought this would be a fun one you might enjoy,” Kelly announced before the performance, “I know you know this song. I’m expecting everybody on these O’s!”

I love Britney, but does it suck for her when she realizes that Kelly can perform her songs live and she can’t anymore? Ahh boo, sorry girl.

I can’t tell which version I like better? Do we like Britney’s album version of this song, which is a perfect pop song, or do we like Kelly Clarkson sliding all over the track with her amazing live vocals? I’m gonna say both.

However, Kelly says she’s got a sore spot for Britney songs because she only listens to Britney when she goes to the gym.

“I love that song,” Kelly said after the performance, “The only thing is I always get this bad taste in my mouth though when I hear Britney Spears because usually she’s my cardio music and I frickin’ hate cardio! I frickin’ hate the gym. Who likes the gym?! Gym can suck it.”
