Kelly Rowland Snubs Beyonce's Dad Matthew Knowles

Kelly Rowland will be meeting her own biological dad for the first time in 20 years, and she’s been pretty open about it. But when it comes to her BFF Beyonce’s dad, who was her former manager, Rowland doesn’t have much to say.

Jet magazine asked Rowland if Matthew Knowles acted as a father figure for her growing up. Here’s how she responded:

“Well, I am so thankful I was able to have my mom and Tina (Knowles), as well as wonderful women in my life, so I’m happy about that.”

I’m not a psychologist or nothin’, but I’m guessing that’s a no?

It probably doesn’t help Matthew Knowles had an 18-month affair with a 38 year-old woman, Alexsandra Wright, and their romps in the sack produced a love child.

“I think every little girl wants to be a darling in her father’s eyes, and I’m going to get the opportunity to meet my biological father, so we’ll see what happen,” Rowland said of her upcoming reunion.

“That’s all I can say because I’m going to meet someone I haven’t seen in more than 20 years. In my heart I have forgiven him.”

And years after Destiny’s Child has gone their separate ways, Kelly still has that independent spirit:

“I can do whatever I want,” Rowland said of her solo projects. “I don't allow anyone to put me in a box. Honestly, if I want to try something, that's what I'm going to do.”
