Kenny Chesney Tours With Sold Out Shows
June 17, 2011 by: NIC FERGUSON

Chesney is next set to perform a sold-out show at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. And y’all thought Yankees couldn’t appreciate some country.
The concert is part of Chesney’s 2011 Corona-sponsored “Goin’ Coastal” tour. Chesney recently discussed the tribulations of his career—namely, trying too hard to emulate country icon George Strait.
“As much as I love him and respect him, the moment that I quit trying to be him was the moment my life changed."
Kenny says that after he started being himself onstage, his music came from a more personal place, and it was apparent.
"It was just a bunch of songs in a big bowl with everybody else," he said. "Once I started writing real, honest songs about my life -- about things that I love and my life in the islands and my life back in east Tennessee -- and really tried to get my live show where I wanted it, that's when my life changed."
