Kylie Minogue usually performs sold out shows complete with nearly naked back-up dancers, stage sets, and loyal followers that would (almost) put Madonna’s gay fans to shame. However, Minogue has just announced that she’s set to embark on an anti-tour.
What’s an anti-tour you ask? I’ll tell you!
Kylie has decided to strip down her usually flashy performances in two tour dates where she will perform B-sides, demos and unreleased material.
Minogue described it as “small, intimate, unexpected. A unique experience, for super fans only. Kylie and her band performing those songs you thought you’d never hear live! The flipside to a huge ‘Kylie production,’ a once in a lifetime chance and a night to remember.”
My only question is: Do you really want to see a Kylie Minogue show without all the glitz and glam? Isn’t that kind of the point of Kylie Minogue?
“I’ve never done anything like that before, something like an anti-tour where there are no dancers, there are no lights,” says Minogue.
As for the kinds of songs she will be performing she reveals, “B-sides or songs that were never meant to see the light of day, songs that were leaked but turned out to be quite popular. Certain covers I’ve done. Covers I haven’t yet done.”
In other news, Kylie performed in her home country of Australia at the Sydney’s annual Mardi Gras festivities. The performance was everything you probably wont see during her anti-tour.
