The bad news is, so were The Wiggles.

Pop singer Kylie Minogue was inducted into the Australian Record Industry Association (Aria) Hall of fame. Minogue has sold over 68 million records, with her singles shooting to the top of Australian and British pop charts. She even managed to transition her overseas fame to the States, something that's not easy to do. Especially without the help of Simon Cowell.

At the Awards ceremony in Sydney, Australia, Minogue said she was "a very proud Australian."

"I just want to let all of you know and everyone at home, that Australia I love you and I thank you very much," Minogue said.

She was inducted by music journalist Molly Meldrum as well as the Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard.

"I'm always bragging about our country wherever I am in the world and tonight's award means so much to me," Minogue told the audience at the Allphones Arena.

Minogue brought her Spanish model boyfriend, Andres Velencoso, to the event. I'm not even sure what he looks like, but his name sounds hot. Valencoso. I feel like I should be biting a rose and doing the salsa. During her acceptance speech, Minogue said that Valencoso has fallen "in love" with her country.

"Thank you to my boyfriend Andres," Minogue said during her speech. "Who is in love with this country. You've made him feel very welcome."

She added that she felt a sense of "amazement, gratitude, humility, wonderment and pride" about receiving the honor and working in the music industry.

She also thanked her family, including sister Danni Minogue, for supporting her throughout her career.

Another honor Minogue recently received was an honorary doctorate of Health Sciences. Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, Essex, East England gave the singer a doctorate degree in recognition for her work promoting breast cancer awareness. So you know, if this music thing doesn’t work out, she has something to fall back on.

When presented with the honor at the University, Minogue told graduates: "I never went to university so my dad will be very proud when he sees the pictures. I am here partly for the work I do promoting breast cancer awareness."

Minogue added that battling cancer makes you want to spread awareness: "When you are diagnosed yourself it becomes a lot more real and you appreciate at first hand the hard work that goes on to support patients through it."

Past hall of fame inductees include The Bee Gees, INXS, AC/DC, Rolf Harris and Mental As Anything.
