Prep your fluttering hearts: Lady Gaga has announced on littlemonsters.com that her next album will be released sometime before spring 2013, i.e. in less than a year.
The title will be announced in September, and her lead single should be out before the end of 2012, if you weren’t excited enough already.
She played one of her new songs for fans in New York a few days ago from her car stereo, and even through the camera phone and yelping you can tell it’s going to be a good one.
The news comes on the heels of Gaga’s announcement that she’ll be making her acting debut as Lady Chameleon in Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming movie Machete Kills. A teaser shot for the film shows her holding a smoking, silenced gun, sporting a Monroe ‘do, giant diamonds and a lush fur stole.
Gaga also drummed up publicity last week by lounging around in a nude thong on camera and documenting her sleepover with Lindsay Lohan and photographer Ellen von Unwerth at the Chateau Marmont, replete with fur, cigarettes and tiaras.
So as if 2011 and 2012 weren’t already, it looks like 2013 will also be The Year of The Gaga.
