More Protests For Lady Gaga World Tour
Not everyone is welcoming Lady Gaga with open arms.

Protests have been sticking with the pop star throughout Southeast Asia like a bad sunburn. This time the sting of backlash comes from a youth Christian group in the Philippines.

“Stop the Lady Gaga concerts,” the children chanted during a rally on Friday.

According to the Associated Press, the group wants concerts canceled even after promises from authorities that the performances will not contain nudity or lewd acts.

Biblemode Youth Philippines rallied at the Pasay City Hall in Manila, wearing shirts with Gaga’s face x’ed out. Their main message was that Gaga’s lyrics and costumes are too proactive, particularly taking offense to her song “Judas.” A protest leader even claims that he will take legal action if she performs the song during her Manila stops.

Mayor Antonino Calixto said that if she wants to perform, she will need to follow the rules.

"Although we respect artistic and musical expressions, I won't allow anyone or any group to provide acts which may be questionable in a way at any venue under my jurisdiction," he said in a statement.

Gaga with restrictions would be like eating cake without frosting. In other words, what’s the point?

The protests come after the “Born This Way” singer was unable to get the proper permits to perform in the Jakarta, Indonesia for more or less the same reasons. Fans younger than 18 were banned from another show in Seoul.

Hollyscoop has reached out to Gaga’s team for comment. No word yet on their reaction.

Meanwhile, while Lady Gaga performs for 20,000 fans in Maila, Biblemode will be holding a candlelight vigil nearby. I wonder which one will more entertaining…
