Lady Gaga claims that she’s not in the music industry for the money. She’s made a ton of cash in the last few years, but that apparently doesn’t matter to her.
So what does she do with all her millions? According to Gaga, she immediately spends it on her stage shows. And if you’ve seen Gaga in concert, you know she pulls out all the stops at her shows!
She said: “I spent every dollar I made on my music, my art. Every dollar. I don’t wait to get budgets from the label. I do it on my own. I don’t give a f**k about money. Unless it’s on the stage, I don’t want it in my hand.”
According to reports, she went over budget on her North American leg of her Monster Ball tour by $2 million! But for Gaga, it’s all because of her love of pop music.
“Pop music is commercial art the way Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s soup cans were commercial art. I don’t know why everyone is so against pop music. I love a good chorus – sue me. It’s that f***ing simple.”
Her long-term plan is to keep making music…and become an art exhibit at one of the best museums in the world. She said: "My ultimate goal besides making music forever and touring the world over and over and becoming the greatest pop performance art show on the planet? I want a Lady Gaga exhibit at the Louvre."
Knowing Gaga, it’ll happen.
