Lil Wayne Quitting Rap To Skate

Being a multimillionaire rapper isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. For Lil’ Wayne, it’s downright boring. In an interview with DJ Drama on Atlanta’s Hot 107.9, he said:

“Being me, I always feel like I ain’t done nothing yet, so I’m always looking for the next thing to do. It does get pretty boring when it comes to just the rapping and all that type of stuff,” he said. “I’ve been doing it since I was 8 and I’m about to be 30 in September.”

Since 2000, Wayne has released ten studio albums, 25 mixtapes, 145 singles and 101 music videos—prolific, no matter who you are.

As the date of his “Dedication 4” album release nears, Lil’ Wayne plans to hit the streets on his clavicle shattering skateboard more and more.

He’s also released a line of skate wear, TRUKFIT, in Macy’s and ZUmiez stores this year. He also has a bunch of skate videos up on YouTube, and he’s not so bad. Not great, but not so bad.

Wayne is also awesomely humble about his break from music: "I think fans deserve a little-to-no Wayne. I've been everywhere. I've been out on everybody's song. I’m still on everybody’s song. My artists have been doing awesome. I believe the fans deserve some peace from me. So I'll be on my skateboard in the meantime."
