Lily Rose Cooper, formerly known as the retired Lily Allen, is emerging from her three year musical hibernation to work on a new album.
It will be released under her new, married name, which makes her sound kinda like a fictional Victorian era socialite.
Lily’s claims that she was ‘quitting music’ back in 2009 were never completely solid or confirmed (first she said she was leaving because of music piracy, then because people were being mean on Twitter, then to focus on acting, then to focus on her family), but she’s been true to her word so far, and hasn’t release or worked on anything since.
About the new album, Lily says: “It’s great to work at my own pace, with no commitments other than to make music,” the artist said in a press release.
“I’m excited to be heading back into the studio.” No commitments other than her baby. And the other baby that she’s pregnant with. So nothing big, really.
There’s no release date set for the album yet, but LRC also has a collaboration in the works with Pink, and will be featured on her new album The Truth About Love.
