The Henson Recording studios were a paparazzi’s dream last night as more than 80 artists came together to record a remake of “We Are The World.” The stars all had one goal in mind as they leant their voices to the track—to raise money for Haiti.

Lionel Richie, who has organized this with Quincy Jones, said, "This one, the enthusiasm, I've never seen anything like it.”

"They are working hard to get this done. We have more artist than time would ever permit. We have [someone] from every music genre. They are loading up, my phone is ringing right now with people who want to do this," Emmy-nominated music director of American Idol Rickey Minor told Hollyscoop exclusively at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

Pink, Natalie Cole, Kanye West, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, and Brian Wilson all arrived first, singing on risers at the studios. In the meantime, Richie and Jones worked with a select number of soloists, including Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and Barbra Streisand.

Next up were the rappers: Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J and Wyclef Jean, recorded an interlude written by Black Eyed Peasfrontman and producer Will.i.am, while Lil Wayne said he was blessed to record the tune but was surprised when told he would do Bob Dylan's part from the original. "I don't know how to sing," he told reporters.

Other artists at the studio Monday night were: Justin Bieber, Vince Vaughn, Kanye and Amber Rose, Julianne Hough, T-Pain, Randy Jackson, Gladys Knight, Brandy, Keri Hilson, Faith Evans, Rob Thomas, Nancy Wilson, Harry Connick Jr., Katharine McPhee, Robin Thicke, Josh Groban and India.arie.

There were rumors that Lady Gaga was going to join in, but sources tell Hollyscoop exclusively that she decided against it because she thought they "were exploiting something."

"We Are the World - 25 for Haiti" will premiere this month during coverage of the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics on NBC, according to a release from promoter AEG Live.

Gaga and Bono Join 'We Are The World' Remake
Quincy Jones has added some more star power to his remake of “We Are The World.” As Hollyscoop previously reported, Jones, the original producer of the track, and Lionel Richie, a co-writer, have teamed up to redo the song with new artists.

And according to E!, Lady Gaga and Bono have both joined the group of artists for the remake, which has become a who’s who of the music industry. Usher, Jason Mraz, Akon, Jennifer Hudson, Carlos Santana, Enrique Iglesias, and Toni Braxton are amongst the others involved.

According to the report, Richie and Jones recruited Gaga and Bono at last night’s Grammys. Gaga’s producer RedOne will also work on the track, which has reportedly become a 100-person job.

"It's like the biggest honor in life to get a call from our father in music, Quincy Jones," he told E!.

We can’t wait to hear this! Talk about epic! It’ll be tough to match the original recording, but with this many star artists, it’s bound to be incredible. The artists are reportedly in the studio beginning the recording today. Proceeds from the track will be going to help those in need in the country of Haiti.
