Right when you thought you could shake off “Call Me Maybe,” Carly Rae Jepsen releases a new single.
The latest track continues Carly’s feel-good modern love story from the meet-cute stages of “Call Me Maybe” to the possibility of K-I-S-S-I-N-G with “This Kiss.”
Carly’s already calling it her “favourite track” from the new album—“favourite” spelled with the ‘u’ because she’s super cute and Canadian like that.

It’s a stretch to call “This Kiss” a more “grown up” track, but it’s definitely more aggressive than her wishy-washy “maybe” in the lyrics department.
I went out last night
I’m going out tonight again
Anything to capture your attention (your attention)
Get it, girl.
Her first purely solo single since her "Call Me Maybe" features a bubbly electro-dance/pop beat that sounds less like the dubstep-inspired basslines saturating the radio today, more like something you’d hear blasting through the speakers of a mall food court in the ‘80s. In other words, it was basically written to annoy everyone’s younger brother everywhere. Only way this track could get any more addictive is if it were to be produced by a member of LMFAO. Oh wait, it was.
In related news: The song was reportedly written with her rumored BF musician Matthew Koma.
Carly’s next album “Kiss” hits iTunes, record stores, and the impulse buy shelves of supermarkets everywhere on September 18.
