With Ne-Yo’s latest “Let Me Love You” slowly climbing the charts, the 30-year-old singer is already ready to drop another shiny new single, “Forever Now.”
Ne-Yo offers up the same love triangle of electro-dance, pop, and R&B that the singer has found himself caught up in since he was featured on Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything” with Afrojack. Also hot off another dance-collaboration, “Let’s Go” featuring Calvin Harris, this third single is sort of more of the same for the singer save the lyrical content of the song.
“Forever Now” has Ne-Yo bringing a sense of defeated melodramatic feet-dragging musings over an ex—“As I watch you kiss him softly / The same way you kissed me / Ask me what am I gonna do with forever now? / Tell me what am I gonna do with forever now?”—to an unlikely place: the upbeat dance floor.
That Ne-Yo can have you dancing your breath away over a heartbreaking separation speaks to the singer-songwriter’s innate understanding of studio production and infectious beats.
The track is slated to appear on his upcoming album R.E.D. which hits shelves on November 6. Expect thirteen new tracks on the standard version (seventeen on the deluxe version) that features guests like Wiz Khalifa, Fabolous, Diddy, and surprisingly, Tim McGraw.
