The Madonna and Deadmau5 Feud Continues

There is nothing like a twitter feud to kickstart my Tuesday!

Here’s the quick backstory before we get to the twitter backstabbing. Madonna went to this Electronic Dance Music festival called Ultra Music Festival and asked the crowd whether or not “the crowd has seen Molly?” which is a slang term for ecstasy.

So DJ Deadmau5 (the guy with the mouse ears that your cool friends tried to get you to listen to) decided to become a narcotics police for a day and blasted Madonna on his facebook calling her a “f-cking idiot” for being so irresponsible about drug use, which is weird since 99% of Deadmau5 fans have probably confused their ecstasy pills for aspirin at some point during a rave. Anyways, this is happening.

Well thankfully for Madonna she created a twitter account yesterday to tweet at fans about her new album release and also coincidentally so she could tweet back at Deadmau5 over their embittered internet feud.

Madonna tweeted a photo of an old pic of herself wearing mouse ears and wrote, “From one mouse to another. I don’t support drug use and I never have. I was referring to the song called “Have You Seen Molly” written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my last album.”

So that’s Madonna’s defense and also a virtual olive branch because Deadmau5 wrote, “fair enough, I was just voicing my concerns as I usually do. +1 respect for clearing it up personally.”

Then Madonna writes, “Communication is always best. You should have called me first, we could have cleared it up “privately.” ;) See you on the road.”

This tweet makes me lol. First of all, Madonna, don’t you know that twitter feuds are the new “behind closed doors.” Clearing things up “privately”? Pah, what does she think this is? 1998? Also, why the air quotes around “privately”? That sounds like a weird invitation to get a lap dance or something? Also, see you on the road? Deadmau5 ‘aint going to no Madonna concert!

Anyways, Deadmau5 reluctantly accepts her apology. Sort of. “Sure,” he writes, “Regardless, just be a little more aware of what you *should* represent at EDM events, and ill watch my mouth.”
