The Giants played against the Patriots last night at the Super Bowl and the winner was MADONNA!
Let’s face it, big dudes in skinny pants chasing a bizarre egg-shaped ball around a giant field is boring for some of us, so that’s why we were rooting for Madonna.
There was a lot of anticipation for this half-time performance, not only was it Madonna’s “comeback” sort-of, but she featured performances from LMFAO, Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.
Madonna kicked off the show carried in on a golden throne to her song, “Vogue.” If Madonna’s golden throne is the follow-up to Lady Gaga’s egg, then Madonna wins.
Anyways, Madonna performed on this amazing stage that seemed to morph into something new every few seconds. I don’t know if it was holograms, projected images, or thousands of football players rearranging the stage every few seconds, but it was awesome.
Then Madonna raced up the bleachers for an intricate dance number to her 2000 hit, “Music.” Then she was joined by LMFAO and mashed up Madonna’s song with their “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It.” However, was it just me or when Madonna sang “Sexy and I know It” all you could hear was “Almost sixty and I know it?” Nope, just me then? Moving on.
Madonna was then joined by 30 cheerleader/dancers who were busting out some insane choreography, though Madonna should sit one out on the dance moves (just saying). Madonna performed new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin” with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. M.I.A also gave the audience the middle finger during the act, which took care of the “must be edgy” clause in all of Madonna’s contracts.
Madonna finished the set with Cee Lo Green, who was definitely wearing a sequined mu-mu, and together they and a giant gospel choir sang “Like A Prayer” before Madonna vanished in a cloud of smoke.
Great Job Madonna! Way to win the Super Bowl. Oh what’s that? Madonna wasn’t playing? Oh. Go Giants or whatever.
