Mariah Carey isn’t letting a little giant flop of a lead single debut get her down. She’ll be performing at a NFL season kickoff concert at 30 Rock in New York before the Giants-Cowboys game on September 5th at 7:30 EST.
Unfortunately for her, she’s slated to sing her failure of a new single, “Triumphant (Get ‘Em),” at the show. Most people have come to the consensus that the song kind of sucks, no matter which of the three pandering versions you try to listen to.
Hopefully No Doubt will make up for her downer of a track with their new single “Settle Down,” which they’ll also be performing during the show.
Cee Lo Green will be there, too. He’s writted a track called “I Love Football,” which will hopefully sound less like a six-year-old wrote it than its title would suggest.
Mariah will then be jetting over to Beverly Hills to accept a Major Award from BMI before starting her stint as an American Idol judge.
What this all means is that Mariah is officially in the coasting position we suspected she was in a few years ago—she doesn’t really have to do anything good for the rest of her life to keep on collecting the awards and the prestigious performance slots.
