Marilyn Manson collapsed on stage while performing in front of a live audience in Canada.
The American rocker made headlines on Thursday when a video showing him falling over during an encore performance of “The Beautiful People” went viral. The incident took place during a show in the city of Saskatoon.
YouTube footage documenting the episode shows the 44-year-old stumbling for a moment, and then falling over.
Manson’s band, assuming it was one of the Goth hitmaker’s many bizarre on-stage antics, continued to play out the song to a confused audience. EMTs were reportedly called in to assist in the situation.
While it’s unclear from the video, at one point it sounds as if Manson is vomiting, which some outlets are confirming.
TMZ, who has been keeping up with developments, is reporting that it was not some absinthe binge that caused the meltdown. Rather, it was a common case of the flu.
Manson is said to be recovering in his hotel room. He was not taken to the hospital.
While he feels “drained,” his tour—which includes a stop in Calgary on Friday—will resume as scheduled.
