Glee’s Mark Salling melted our hearts with his rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on the season finale. And now he’s breaking away from the group with a solo album!
He said today in a video on his website to his fans, “I’m super stoked to be announcing my debut album Pipe Dreams, and I’ve been waiting for a long time to get it out to you guys.”
“I hope you really feel it and enjoy it,” Salling added.
As for his musical influences, Mark tells Teen Vogue magazine, "I love nineties stuff like Alice in Chains and Nine Inch Nails...
I also love jazz greats like (John) Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock. I'm combining those two genres to make rock melodic and accessible."
Although he’s calling it his debut album, this won't be Salling's first release - he put out his first project, Smoke Signals, in 2008 under the stage name Jericho. But Pipe Dreams comes out October 12th!
