Maroon 5 is the first act announced to rock the stage of the upcoming “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!—Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night.”
The CBS broadcast on Wednesday, December 5 is a one-hour special that officially announces the nominees for the 55th annual awards show in February and it’s happening for the first time ever at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Maroon 5 has an intimate relationship with the golden statuette—three golden statuettes to be real specific. They also performed on last year’s stage with Foster the People in a tribute to The Beach Boys, so they have experience on their side here.
They’ll also be joined by another Grammy winner LL Cool J, who is returning as the master of ceremonies for the televised primetime concert special which is now in its fifth consecutive year.
No further hints yet at who else is scheduled to perform, though it does tend to feature performances from past winners and nominees, so our guesses? Bruno Mars and Mumford & Sons, maybe. Also it’s at a new venue in Tennessee for the first time ever so they better have some country acts in the line-up like Luke Bryan or The Band Perry.
If you miss it, the announcements of the nominations will no doubt send your Twitter into a who’s who of trending topics.
The 55th annual Grammy Awards will air on February 10, 2013.
