Kanye West Scores Seven Nominations for BET Awards

Kanye, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé are leading the way at this year’s BET awards.

The nominees for the July 1 ceremony were announced on Tuesday and the hip-hop trio are by far the most honored on the list. They received 18 nominations, seven of which belong to Yeezy.

Rocketing the artist in the top position was his recent collaboration with Jay-Z Watch The Throne. The duo dropped the album last year, marking their first full studio LP together after long time collaboration work on each of their respected singles.

Mary J. Blige Demands New Toilet Seat at Each Show

At every new concert, Mary J. Blige demands that event staff install a brand new toilet seat in her dressing room. This is just one of the requests that Blige has listed in her tour rider.

All musicians have what’s called a “rider”, which is a list of items they demand to have backstage at every show. For example, Nicki Minaj actually demands a bucket of fried chicken and Mariah Carey apparently once demanded white kittens and doves at her London concert, you know, normal things like that.
