Glee's Matthew Morrison Lands Album Deal

Matthew Morrison has blown us away with his singing abilities on the hit show Glee. Playing the Glee club leader Will Schuester, Morrison knows a thing or two about putting on a good show.

And now he’s managed to ink a record deal with Mercury Records. According to People, Matt will be heading into the studio while Glee is on hiatus, and is planning on having his debut record out by this fall.

In addition to working on an album, Morrison has also been honored with a Golden Globe nomination for his role on Glee. And he’s no stranger to the stage—Matt has starred in such shows as Hairspray, The Light in the Piazza, for which he was nominated for a Tony, and the revival of South Pacific.

As for what we can expect from Morrison’s debut record, he told reporters recently, “It’s going to be like Michael Buble, this guy Jamie, kind of Dean Martin-esque. Just me an a big orchestra, doing some standards.”

Matthew also wasn’t afraid to take a little jab at one of our faves, saying, “I would consider it a classier Justin Timberlake album.”

We can’t wait to hear what he comes up with!
