Jackson held a press conference last week in London unveiling a residency of 10 shows at the city's O2 Arena in July.
More than a million fans registered to buy tickets for the ten shows at the 20,000-capacity venue, with pre-sale seats snapped up within minutes of going on sale on Wednesday. Yup, he's still got it!
Jackson is now expected to announce dates for another nine shows, with more gigs expected to be announced. In fact, he’s almost doubling it by adding nine more shows!
The shows currently stretch from July 8th through August 24th. Now it’ll probably go into September or even October. Michael had already promised this would be his last tour, so he probably wants to make the most of it. Tickets for the new show go on sale Friday.
In addition to the added dates, MJ is apparently working on some new music for the tour. Randy Phillips, head of concert promoters AEG Live, says, "There will be a new Michael Jackson single before the first date. Michael has got some new music and he is looking for a new way of disseminating his material to his fans."
He also promises fans that they won’t be disappointed. Phillips says, "He wants to use some technical effects that have never been seen before."
We can’t wait for another Michael Jackson single! Did you register to snag up tickets? And more importantly, do you think he'll deliver?
