I’m not sure what happens when you mix Michael Jackson fans with Glee fans, but it sounds like a recipe for mass frenzy.

The Jackson family has given their personal seal of approval for the execs at Glee to create a special tribute episode that will feature the King of Pop’s hits.

Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy received “enthusiastic support” from Michael Jackson’s family, after letting them know that the show will be a respectful homage to the pop legend.

The special installment will air on January 24, 2012, and will feature ten to twelve of Jackson’s songs. This isn’t Glee’s first tribute to Jackson, either. They previously recreated his Thriller video on a school football field. They also covered Man in the Mirror and the Jackson 5 hit, ABC.

Glee has made a name for itself with its artist tribute episodes. In the past, they’ve paid homage to quite a few pop stars:

Madonna: In an episode titled “The Power of Madonna,” Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) demands that the school play Madonna over the intercom system. Glee club director Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) gives the club a Madonna-themed assignment. Madonna called the episode “brilliant on every level.” Of course she did. The episode won an Emmy for “Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy or Drama Series.”

Britney Spears: The Britney/Brittany episode of Glee featured various songs by pop princess Britney Spears. Some of them included: “Baby One More Time,” “Toxic” and “I’m a Slave 4 U”

Lady Gaga: Lady Gaga and Glee have a ton of overlapping fans. And so most Glee fans felt the episode, titled Born This Way, was one of the best of the season. Gaga highly approved of the episode, writing: “I really loved Glee's Born This Way episode. I admire the show for being brave+fighting for such modern social messaging. Never back down."

Journey: Glee’s first season finale episode included a Journey mashup, featuring Faithfully, Any Way You Want It, and Don’t Stop Believin’. Pretty much all the songs you’d hear playing at a karaoke bar. The episode was titled Journey to Regionals. Get it?

Other pop stars that have been featured on the show, but not had an entire episode dedicated to them, include Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.

Perry Tweeted her approval, writing: "Oh… My… Gosh… this just brought a sweet tear to my eye! Teenage Dream on GLEE makes my heart go WEEEE!"
