Ever since Tupac graced us with his holographic presence at Coachella, the rumor mill has been working overtime to keep up with all the “[Insert Dead Artist] going on tour as a hologram” headlines.
Michael Jackson is being rumored to go on tour, this according to his brother Jackie Jackson.
Jackie tells The Sun that Tupac was resurrected for Coachella but that “it could have been Michael – absolutely. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?”
Jackie adds, “As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael’s Cirque du Soleil show.”
The thing about hologram shows is that they are super cheap to produce. Creating a Michael hologram is actually less expensive than paying what it costs to “hire” the real Michael.
A source close to Michael’s camp told The Sun that a possible hologram Jackson 5 tour would be “the most lucrative of all time, but that it would take a lot of negotiating before it could happen.”
“As always with Michael’s estate and creating new art with his image, there will be a lot of politics to navigate. But we’ve all seen how well it can be done now. It could be the most lucrative world tour of all time.”
Whether this will be ‘the most lucrative world tour of all time” or the other Jackson 4 are just using their brothers famous image to get back on a stage is unsure. Either way, would you see a Jackson 5 reunion tour with “Michael Jackson?”
