Def Leppard and Motley Crue Announce UK Tour Together

Bust out your hairspray, your Levi 501's and your best rawk face, because Def Leppard and Motley Crue are going on tour together. This is excellent news to anyone over the age of 47 and also to my psychotic roommate in college who, for reasons unknown, was obsessed with Def Leppard.

The two iconic 80's bands will be teaming up for a joint tour of the UK. They will also be joined by guest act Steel Panther, a Glam Metal band that parodies heavy metal glam rock bands.

"I can't tell you enough how thrilled I am to announce this tour! We always strive to make our shows an event and to have Motley Crue and Steel Panther along for the ride makes this an event that just can't be missed for rock fans across the UK." says Def Leppards vocalist Joe Elliott.

Motley Crue's founder and frontman Nikki Sixx says, "Motley Crue is excited to do some destruction with long time peers Def Leppard on tour this holiday season."

Both bands were very popular in the 80's and early 90's. Def Leppard formed in 1977 in England whereas Motley Crew is a Los Angeles band formed in 1981. Both bands are heavy metal and are of the glam metal variety. If that doesn't mean anything to you, just know that the male members of glam metal bands always have long hair. They also use a lot of hairspray. Always, without fail.

However, if you aren't a 45 year old woman with a penchant for wearing leopard print leggings you are probably most familiar with Motley Crue's drummer Tommy Lee, who was once married to and starred in a sex tape with Pam Anderson. Yeah, ok now you know who I'm talking about.

Motley Crue and Def Leppard teaming up would be like if Adele and Beyonce went on tour together. Kind of...not really, well sort of. Or if Lady Gaga went on a joint tour with RuPaul. Or Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. Or Elton John and Paul McCartney. Get it?

"We have never toured together so hopefully there will be some de-virginizing of each-others fans and in the end one f-cking wild party together." says Sixx.

If by wild party they mean drunken middle-aged women with "I heart Tommy Lee" t-shirts then yes, it will be one "f-cking wild party."
